For the last two weeks I have been waiting for this skein of handspun Optim merino wool to arrive from A Yarn Above and now it is here! The colours of the skein are much brighter than the picture shows but I just couldn't wait until tomorrow when there would be better lighting to show it to you. It is so soft! I know I need to stick with my planned projects for tonight (Christmas is getting closer every day) so maybe I will just wind it into a ball, sit it on the coffee table in front of me and daydream about what I will knit with it as I knit away on my sweater and socks.

I made good progress. I managed to knit 8" of the lace pattern and then I skipped ahead, found another set of needles and a new ball of yarn and knit the boarder that will be grafted to the live sts of the runner. Once I had the boarder knit I couldn't resist trying out the grafting method for garter stitch so I attached a short section and it worked great! There is no seam and it lies nice and flat.
Now to back track and pull out the grafting and continue with the lace pattern for another 10 inches or until I run out of yarn or Christmas arrives; which ever comes first. Here is hoping the grafting unknits as easily as it knit!
