Optim Wool

I have the house to myself tonight. After thinking about all the knitting projects I have on the needles right now I picked two to work on tonight (socks and a sweater). Then I got the mail!

For the last two weeks I have been waiting for this skein of handspun Optim merino wool to arrive from A Yarn Above and now it is here! The colours of the skein are much brighter than the picture shows but I just couldn't wait until tomorrow when there would be better lighting to show it to you. It is so soft! I know I need to stick with my planned projects for tonight (Christmas is getting closer every day) so maybe I will just wind it into a ball, sit it on the coffee table in front of me and daydream about what I will knit with it as I knit away on my sweater and socks.

Progress!

Yesterday was a great day! It was Sunday so I was able to spend the day knitting the lace table runner and watching football.

I made good progress. I managed to knit 8" of the lace pattern and then I skipped ahead, found another set of needles and a new ball of yarn and knit the boarder that will be grafted to the live sts of the runner. Once I had the boarder knit I couldn't resist trying out the grafting method for garter stitch so I attached a short section and it worked great! There is no seam and it lies nice and flat.

Now to back track and pull out the grafting and continue with the lace pattern for another 10 inches or until I run out of yarn or Christmas arrives; which ever comes first. Here is hoping the grafting unknits as easily as it knit!

Craft Sale

Sundays here are usually wool dyeing days but not today. Today I packed up a lot of wool and learn to knit kits and headed for a local craft show. What a fun day! There was a lot of interest in knitting lessons and our knitting guild. It was a great way to promote knitting in our community and I am looking forward to going back again next year!

It is Christmas knitting time!

Christmas is getting closer. The malls are putting up their Christmas decorations, Christmas commercials are on tv and our Santa Claus parade is this weekend so it just seems fitting that my newest project is a Christmas table runner knit in red sparkley yarn.

One More Beach Day

It was a beautiful Fall day here today. I couldn't resist heading to the beach for one last afternoon of knitting before the snow arrives. I took the sweater with me to knit and have it up past the arm shaping. It is knitting up quickly!
