Day One At The Cottage

The first day of holidays has been great; knitting, reading and walking.

My sweater is only a few inches away from the armhole shaping. I worked on it where ever I was today, at the beach while the kids were swimming, on the deck and down at the docks. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Another whole day of relaxing and knitting!

Knitting Goddesses Beach Day

Last Sunday was a great day! We had a smaller group of Knitters than usual but the weather was perfect for a day at the beach and we had lots of fun!.

We had a shaddy spot with a nice breeze under the pavillion to knit the afternoon and evening away.

We walked on the beach, played in the water, ate supper at one of the restaurants and some of us stayed to see the sunset. I'm already looking forward to doing it again next year!

Finished Scaruffle!

This was such a fun scarf to knit and so easy with garter stitch and short rows! I am thinking of modifying the pattern to make a larger version that would be shawl size.

Work In Progress Wednesday

I know it is Friday but somehow this week has flown by and Wednesday came and went without me showing my sweater progress (or lack of it).

The decrease section is finished and I am still working on the 2" section with no increases or decreases just keeping with the pattern. I am almost at the 2" mark; I got distracted by my Scaruffle.

FO Friday

My Color Affection shawl is officially finished!

I loved knitting this. So much so that I just might knit another one for a lucky person on my Christmas list.

Yarns - Patons Kroy (navy) and a discontinued Knit Picks cotton stretch sock yarn (purple and green)
Needle - 4mm circular bamboo
Modifications - added the yarn over at the beginning of every row for a bit more stretch along the edge. I am not sure what cast off other Knitters have used but I did the Yarn Over Cast Off. I am really happy with it. It gives it a bit of a ruffled look with a lot of stretch.

Work In Progress Wednesday!

This is the beginning of the Flaming June cardigan from knitty.com

Now that I have my gauge issues fixed I am really having fun knitting this sweater. It is knit from the bottom up and the fronts and back are knit all in one piece. The pattern called for a dk weight yarn but I am using sock yarn doubled and have just finished the first balls. I am hoping that by next Wednesday there will be a lot more for you to see.

It is a beautiful morning here. The sun is out and it has cooled off!!

I managed to find some knitting time this weekend and my Scuffle is about half knit!

Laura and I are meeting up today to start seaming our sweaters so be on the lookout for some sweater pictures soon.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Busy Knitting

I have been so busy kntting that I haven't taken time to show you what progress I have been making on my sweater, shawl and scarf.

Here is the Laura and Louise sweater. The back and both fronts are finished. Just needs 2 sleeves which is going to be trickier than it sounds since I am pretty sure I am short on yarn.

This is my almost finished Color Affection shawl. Just working on a 2" edging and it will be done!!!

The third project I am working on is another KAL with some friends. This is the start of a Scruffle. It is a cute ruffley scarf.
