Success!!

I love to see my students finished projects after I have taught them a class.  Jessica just took my learn to knit classes and then a how to knit in the round class.

We were both at Stitch Knit last night and look at the hat she had to show off!

I overheard her talking to another knitter about sweaters and socks.  Yay, she's hooked!

Family, Socks and Knitting

Happy Family Day knitters!  If today is a holiday wherever you are reading this I hope your are having a fantastic long weekend.

Last weekend my Mom, Aunt and I had our own knitting afternoon and I had so much fun. Hopefully they did too!  They are both working on a pair of socks.

Mom had the leg of her sock knit so she moved onto knitting the heel flap.

I taught Aunt Joyce the Kitchener Stitch

and the long tail cast on - perfect for socks since it is so stretchy

Aunt Joyce has one sock finished and has cast on for sock number two.  No second sock syndrome for her!!

Thanks for a fun afternoon,  I'm looking forward to our next kntting day!  Maybe we can get some more family to join us - Angela, Anita, Lynne, Tara, Vicki, Ellen, Aunt Martha??  Grayden you are more than welcome too!

Mazzy Knit-a-Long

We have been having a lot of fun Saturday mornings at Knit Stitch knitting through the Mazzy sweater pattern!

It's a great way to start the weekend, knitting with other Knitters in a yarn shop filled with beautiful yarns.  We show off our weeks worth of knitting as Stacy is doing above,

and Diane is double checking the fit as we knit along.

And I am knitting two sleeves at a time using magic loop.  This has never been my preference.  I'm a one at a time, double point needle girl.  But, Beth challenged me to knit two at a time along with her so I'm giving it a go. The cast on and the first couple of rounds where a little crazy and a bit of a tangled mess but I have to admit that now that I have some knitting on the needles and I have the tangling under control, I'm liking it.

Sherry did a lot of knitting this week and was able to try on her sleeve to check the fit.  We did some arm measurements and decided that she should add a few rounds before joining the sleeves to the body.

See you all next Saturday, have a great week knitting ladies!
